Learn Arabic by finding it.
Word Souq hides Arabic words in a grid of letters. Trace one and it is yours — and then the game quietly brings it back, days later, at roughly the moment you were about to forget it.

Drag across the letters to find these four.
It remembers what you got wrong.
Every word you meet joins a review schedule. Words you pull from memory go quiet for weeks. Words you had to reveal come back tomorrow. You never manage any of this — you just keep playing, and the puzzles fill up with the words you are worst at.
One dot for each time you have met a word — oldest on the left, five at most — coloured by how that time went: from memory with a hint revealed.
Four ways to practise
The same vocabulary, approached from four different angles.
-
Word search
The main game. Eight directions, three sizes, and topics from food to weather — or just let it choose what you owe.
-
Sentences
Fill the gap in a real sentence using a word you have already met. Recognising a word is not the same as placing it.
-
Root hunt
Arabic builds families from three-letter roots. ك‑ت‑ب gives book, writer, office, library. Find the whole family in one grid and the language starts looking less arbitrary.
-
Plurals
Arabic plurals rearrange the word rather than adding an ending — أسد becomes أسود. Drill the broken ones until they stop surprising you.
One puzzle a day, the same for everyone.
Five words, one small grid, the same for every player that day — so your result is worth comparing. Keep a streak, chase a daily goal, and spend the XP you earn on hints, a double-XP day, or a streak freeze for the day life gets in the way.
An Android app, in testing
The same puzzles, made for your phone.
-
Reminders with something to say
A daily nudge that tells you what is due, and stays quiet once you have hit your goal.
-
On your home screen
A widget with your streak, what is due and the word of the day. A Quick Settings tile that starts the daily puzzle in one tap.
-
Made for a phone
A tap of haptics for every letter you trace, your phone's own Arabic voice, and colours that follow your wallpaper.
